Donate Your Holiday Cards

Posted on Jan 10, 2015

Every year I take down my holiday cards and I really don’t want to recycle them, but I can’t keep them all either. So I looked online and there are so many different charities that will take your holiday or all occasion cards. What a great way to give back and recycle at the same time! I found a place called St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. There are a couple easy rules they ask that you follow… Cannot be American Greetings, Hallmark, or Disney Send only the front of the card The back of the front of the card must have no writing   If you would like to participate, their address is: Recycled Card Program, 100 St. Jude’s Street, Boulder City, NV...

Posted on Nov 14, 2013

I know you are all thinking, is Angie crazy? Well, yes, but remember, Thanksgiving day is 2 weeks away. If you are ordering your holiday cards, it takes time to create them and a few days to receive them in the mail. Or you may be manually preparing your own holiday cards. Either way, start preparing now! Here are some websites that I like: www.simplytoimpress.com www.paperculture.com www.minted.com www.peartreegreetings.com www.zazzle.com...

Thanksgiving is Around the Corner

Posted on Nov 4, 2012

18 days until Turkey Day. I always have family visiting from out of state, so I have some additional things to think about.  And of course, I’m not Rachel Ray, so I need all the help I can get in the kitchen.  Some quick things to add to your to-do list: Jot down some menu ideas – Or in my case, ask your mom to email you a shopping list. Pies – are you baking or ordering? I know what I’m doing. Do you have enough seating to accomodate all guests? What about sleeping arrangements? Stock up on...

Give & Get

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Today is a day to spend time with family and those you love.  It is also a time to give back.  You can give monetary donations as well as a helping hand.  There are so many opportunities out there.  My husband and I found out our Boston Terrier rescue has been inundated with dogs and decided to volunteer our time and home to these rescues. Tomorrow is the infamous shop till you drop Black Friday!  There are so many great deals if you can handle the craziness that goes with it.  It’s a great time to cross a few items off your holiday list.  I like to create my list when family is present so that I can bounce ideas off of them.  If you are headed out for early shopping, enjoy your turkey and get some rest!  Gobble...

The Holiday Countdown Begins!

Posted on Oct 30, 2011

Halloween is tomorrow which means the holidays are right around the corner.  4 weeks until Thanksgiving and 8 short weeks until Christmas! Do you have your Christmas list ready?  It may be a good idea to start early and pick up gifts here and there.  You will save time and money planning early!  Here is my checklist: Create a gift list separate from a holiday card list Ask your family and friends to create a wishlist online, most retailers have them.  Amazon has one as well, check it out http://www.amazon.com/wishlist/ref=topnav_lists Comparison shop online for those items on your list.  Buy them early! Buy your Christmas cards and send them out about a week after Thanksgiving If you are hosting either of the holidays, your list may be slightly longer than mine Plan your meals and stock up on the nonperishables now.  I was just at Target and they are having great sales on Thanksgiving fixings.  If you are a Trader Joe’s fan, try their delicious pumpkin bread mix. Get a final guest count and make sure you have enough table space, chairs, and settings. Plan now so that you can enjoy the holidays and avoid the...
